Jeremy Langford-Chicago Bears

You’ll have to wait until Monday Night Football, but if you do there’s a good chance you’ll be rewarded by Jeremy Langford who is making his first NFL start for the Bears as they travel to San Diego to face the Chargers.  San Diego ranks last in the league against opposing RB in fantasy points allowed, so the former Spartan couldn’t have asked for a better matchup to step into.

While DeAngelo Williams is getting the most fill-in hype as he steps in for LeVeon Bell, Langford is actually more affordable and available since Matt Forte’s status was uncertain until later in the week.  Forte has officially been ruled out, though, so Langford will be the true feature back for Chicago on Monday.

In his work last week after Forte’s departure, Langford ran for 46 yards on 12 carries bringing his total for the year to 80 yards on 27 carries with two touchdowns along with two catches for 31 yards.

Langford is definitely an unproven option, but he’s affordable at just 4,000 on DraftKings and 6,400 on FanDuel.  As usual, FanDuel is trying to be a little more progressive with its pricing while DraftKings is looking for at least one good game before too much of a cost increase.  In season-long leagues, Langford is surprisingly available in 20% of ESPN leagues coming into the weekend and makes a very nice plug and play option for week 9. He doesn’t have the job long term, but as long as Forte is out Langford will be one of the best sleeper running backs available.
