NFL midseason awards: Tom Brady takes hardware

NFL MVP: Tom Brady
Was there ever any doubt? Great players tend to perform at a high levels when pissed off, and Brady has been on an absolute tear all season. At this point you can smell the burning desire to collect the Lombardi Trophy and spit in Roger Goodell’s eye after Super Bowl 50.
Through seven games, Brady has 20 touchdowns to only one interception – both pace the league. He also has a completion percentage of 68.9 (sixth best in the NFL) and leads the league in quarterback rating (115.8) – the second best of his career, only behind 2007’s 117.2.
All of Brady’s individual success has translated in the Pats 7-0 record. Cue up the whispers of another undefeated regular season. The AFC East is middling, and it looks as if a strong Denver Broncos defense is the only legitimate threat to derailing the Pats’ pain train of domination.
Tom Brady is like a fine wine, only if that that fine wine will cut your heart out with its fastidiously manicured nails and stomp on the disembodied organ with perfectly polished Uggs. The man is an ageless assassin, and at 38-years-old is putting together another special season one snap at a time.
