Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-1) over Dallas Cowboys

Matt Cassel on the road! Matt Cassel on the road! Matt Cassel on the road!

I could probably just stop there, but since you came for the #analysis, I will provide it. 70% of the action is on Dallas right now, and in general, “America’s Team” is almost always the public side. We fade the public in this space, and the Bucs have been generally frisky now that Jameis Winston has figured out how to stop turning the ball over with fervor. Tampa Bay is the better team right now given the quarterback situation in Dallas, and given the venue, I’m taking the Bucs with comfort.

Washington Professional Football Team (+1) over New Orleans Saints

New Orleans regularly generates a jarring level of respect from Las Vegas, and I don’t get it. The Saints can certainly score against questionable defenses, as they proved against Atlanta, Indianapolis and the New York Giants during a three-game winning streak, but New Orleans is an abject disaster defensively.

On the road, that weakness becomes magnified, and frankly, Washington’s defense is much better than you probably realize. Throw in the fact that absolutely no one likes Washington in this spot (84% of the action on the Saints, via Sports Insights), and the pick becomes an easy one for me. Fade the public and fade the Saints defense.
