34. Boone Pickens Stadium (Oklahoma State)

Attempting to find an atmosphere more exhilarating than the “sea of orange” at Oklahoma State’s Boone Pickens Stadium might be difficult. Following each Cowboys touchdown, the fans participate in a tradition of “the wave” in which they wave their hands from side to side and create an awesome ripple effect.

Pistol Pete leads a pretty impressive O-S-U chant that can be heard echoed through the streets of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and the home-field advantage can be annoying for visitors, especially when those pesky west end zone fans start hitting their paddles against the side walls of the field, creating an unbearably loud noise.

Opening in 1920 and formerly known as Lewis Field, Boone Pickens Stadium housed just 8,000 fans and it rapidly grew to where it now is today with 60,000 roaring individuals packing the seats every home Saturday in the fall.

The stadium got its name from an alumnus by the name of T. Boone Pickens who made the largest donation for athletics in American history, effectively earning the name.

Fans of Oklahoma State have been cramming into Boone Pickens every Saturday as the Cowboys are currently in a serious chase for Big 12 and national titles in 2015. This might be one of the best eras in Oklahoma State history and Boone Pickens Stadium is a great place to witness that.
