33. Carter-Finley Stadium (NC State)

Some of the greatest athletes to hit the gridiron in ACC history happened to play for NC State and, for a short time in their playing careers, called Carter-Finley Stadium home. Guys like Russell Wilson, Philip Rivers, Mario Williams, Ted Brown, Erik Kramer and Torry Holt all played for the Wolfpack and graced NC State fans with their presence.

Named after a couple of the school’s largest contributors, Carter Finley Stadium was built in 1966 and fits about 57,500 rowdy fans on Saturdays in the fall.

This isn’t one of the easiest places to play in the otherwise “weak” ACC, though, as top teams such as Florida State and Clemson have struggled here in years past. Whenever the Wolfpack host a top-tier team, you know there is going to be an upset alert.

Unfortunately, though, even the tremendous home-field advantage cannot help the Wolfpack win a national title as the school currently has zero and the last time NC State was ranked in the final AP poll was 2010 – which it finished the season ranked No. 25. Before 2010, the Wolfpack have only finished in the Top 25 just one other time.

With such talent like Wilson, Williams and Rivers coming through here in recent years, it’s time for the Wolfpack to putting a winning product onto the field inside Carter-Finley.
