5 potential landing spots for Colin Kaepernick

Washington Redskins
Kirk Cousins is an impeding free agent, and Robert Griffin III’s chances of playing in the Washington again are slim. Cousins has played well at times this season, most notably in Washington’s demolition of the Saints, but he’s been poor away from home and inconsistent on the year. Kaepernick is a quarterback who presents better long-term stability.
Washington’s offense is nothing to write home about, but it’s getting better thanks to Jordan Reed emerging as an elite tight end, and promising youngsters like Jamison Crowder, Matt Jones and Chris Thompson. Kaepernick could also possibly reinvigorate aging talents in Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson.
More than anything, going after Kaepernick would save the Redskins ownership from overcommitting to an average quarterback yet again. The general consensus with Kaepernick is that he’s a good player, but one that will benefit the most from a change of scenery. Kaepernick would provide the Redskins with their best chance of getting to the playoffs – a sight unseen since 2012.
With Cousins under center, the Redskins have exceeded many expectations by being in the thick of the playoff race, yet Kaepernick is a player who can take the team’s offense and guide to the next level.
