The Indianapolis Colts beat the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday

44. 24. 46. Final. 21

The Indianapolis Colts marched down to The A on Sunday and stole one from the Atlanta Falcons. Indianapolis scored 17 unanswered points – aided by a D’Qwell Jackson pick-six off of Matt Ryan – and found victory off a late field goal.

Both teams were, more or less, playing for the postseason. Indy is in a suddenly competitive AFC South race, while Atlanta is chasing the undefeated Carolina Panthers. At this point the Falcons’ great start is a distant memory and the Dirty Birds are reeling with three consecutive losses. Adding insult to injury, star running back Devonta Freeman left the game early with a concussion.

Highlights

Three Stars

1. D’Qwell Jackson

Jackson had one helluva game and filled up the stat sheet. Look at this line: 7 tackles, 6 solo, 1 sack, 2 tackles for a loss, 1 pass defense, 1 fumble recovery, 1 interception, 1 touchdown

2. Julio Jones

Despite the loss, Jones put up another stellar stat line: 9 receptions and 160 yards

3. Matt Hasselbeck

The ageless wonder, Matt Hasselbeck once again performed admirably in Andrew Luck’s stead. 23/32, 213 yards, 2 touchdowns, 2 interceptions

Odds

Atlanta was favored by 3.5 points and failed to cover at home.

Next Week

The Falcons will host the Minnesota Vikings next week; the Colts will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
