Javorius Allen-RB-Baltimore Ravens (5.3%)

The Ravens had a very bad Sunday even though they managed a last-second win over the Rams.  Baltimore lost Justin Forsett early in the first quarter to a broken arm, and towards the end of the game starting QB Joe Flacco tore his ACL.  Both will be out for the rest of the year, and the team was already missing receivers Steve Smith and rookie Breshad Perriman.

In the absence of all those offensive options, Javorius Allen will be called on to step up for Baltimore, and he looked ready for the task in his work on Sunday.  He totaled 67 yards on his 22 carries and added 48 yards receiving on five catches. He is still in search of his first NFL touchdown, but the Ravens will be counting on the rookie from USC the rest of the way.

In good news, there aren’t many other options in the Ravens offense and they’ll probably need to rely on the running game with Matt Schaub expected to take over at QB.  In bad news, the Ravens offense doesn’t look like it will be very good, and Matt Schaub may not be leading them on many scoring drives that Allen can finish off with touchdowns.

Allen has a clearer path to be the primary back than Rawls for the rest of the season since there is certainty to Forsett’s timeframe sidelined.  However, I love Rawls’ upside and would put a claim on him first with Allen as a very strong second option.
