4. Indianapolis Colts

Another home team favored in Week 12 is the Indianapolis Colts as they welcome the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday with both teams sitting at 5-5 on the season. The Colts, still led by the oldest quarterback in the NFL in Matt Hasselbeck, are 2.5-point favorites heading into this matchup. Though the Colts may have picked up a marginally impressive win last week over the Atlanta Falcons and though they may be on their home field, how they’re favored over a Bucs team that seems to be hitting its stride is beyond me.

For starters, there wasn’t anything noticeably impressive about the Colts in the win over Atlanta. Frank Gore and Ahmad Bradshaw didn’t move the ball well on the ground and Hasselbeck was about what you’d expect him to be with just over 200 yards passing, two touchdown passes, and two interceptions. However, they benefitted from sloppy Falcons offense that led to four turnovers, including a pick-six in the fourth quarter to tie things up and set up the win.

Meanwhile, Jameis Winston, Doug Martin, and the Bucs shined in their win over the Eagles last week. While it appears the Eagles are toast this year, the Colts defense isn’t particularly frightening, especially in regards to stopping the run. Indy ranks just 21st in the league in rushing yards allowed per game. Martin has the potential to go off yet again for Tampa Bay and I think he will to lead the Buccaneers to a win as road underdogs.
