4. Arkansas pulls a rabbit out of the hat in overtime (11/7)

While Ole Miss may have been able to topple Alabama thanks to a miracle earlier in the season, they fell victim to one almost a month later in another SEC matchup against the Arkansas Razorbacks. The Rebels and Razorbacks went back and forth in an offensive shootout for the entirety of the game and ultimately went into overtime. Ole Miss got the ball first and were able to get into the end zone with relative ease. Then it was Arkansas’ turn.

The start of the drive was a complete disaster for the Razorbacks. After penalties and ineffective plays, Arkansas was backed up to the 40-yard line for a fourth-and-25 situation that they needed to convert to stay alive in the game. Even stranger was the fact that the play called up left Brandon Allen throwing a pass 14 yards to tight end Hunter Henry with little room to work on the sideline. As he was about to go down, though, Henry turned and lateralled the ball back toward the line of scrimmage.

The initial lateral hit a lineman and took a hop on the ground before running back Alex Collins picked it up and reversed fields. The speedster found a seam and miraculously picked up the first down to keep the Razorbacks alive. They went on to score just two plays later, but things got even crazier then. Allen threw an incomplete pass on the two-point conversion try, but got another shot after a face mask penalty. Allen then ran it in for two points in the win to cap off just an unreal sequence.
