4. Bill O’Brien is the real deal as a head coach

After a 2-5 start to the season, Bill O’Brien looked like a man in over his head. The Ryan Mallett fiasco was all over the news and the team looked bad on the field. Things did not look salvageable after a 44-26 beat down at the hands of the Miami Dolphins.

O’Brien knew better, as he released Mallett, which sent a message to the team: Give 100 percent, or you’re gone. They managed a 20-6 win against the Tennessee Titans after that and haven’t lost since. The Texans are in the midst of a four-game winning streak, which included knocking off the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football who were undefeated at that time.

While the media and possibly even some fans lost hope in O’Brien, the team still believed in him and he still believed in this team.

"“I believe in this team. I realize not a lot of people believe in us but all that matters is that we get this thing turned around,” O’Brien said."

He was right, and the team knew it too. All they have to do now is continue to play smart and efficient football and they will be playoff bound.
