5. Cleveland Indians

The Indians are in serious need of an upgrade at third base since all of their current options are unknown commodities. Giovanny Urshela showed some flashes of power with eight home runs in 267 at-bats, but he finished with a .225 batting average. Lonnie Chisenhall continues to be a disappointment even though he was selected in the first round of the 2008 draft. It appears that the Indians have given up on him as their future starting third baseman.

The Indians already have solid contact hitters such as outfielder Michael Brantley, shortstop Francisco Lindor and second baseman Jason Kipnis. However, there is little to no power in their lineup. First baseman Carlos Santana led the team with 19 home runs and 85 RBIs, but he produced a sluggish .231 batting average. If the Indians can find a power bat for their lineup, they may be able to contend for an American League Central title after falling short of expectations in 2015. The trade for outfielder Brandon Moss did not go as planned since he disappointed with 15 home runs and 50 RBIs. Frazier offers a consistent presence on the field and at the plate though. The pieces are already there on Indians pitching staff, so acquiring a reliable power bat may be just the spark this team needs.
