5. Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts aren’t exactly a team that many NFL teams are scared of at this point with all of their injuries and their generally inconsistent play. Though they enter Week 14 facing AFC South foe Jacksonville Jaguars with a two-game cushion over the Jags in the division, there’s a strong case to be made that the Jags have a fantastic chance of knocking off the Colts and planting themselves firmly in the division race.

While having Matt Hasselbeck instead of Charlie Whitehurst taking the snaps on Sunday will be beneficial to the Colts’ plight, this Colts team is coming off a matchup with the Steelers where they were just pounded into oblivion. A big part of that was their defense’s inability to cover deep throws against an explosive offense. Despite what you may think about the Jaguars, Blake Bortles has been one of the more dangerous quarterbacks in the league in terms of attacking opponents with the deep ball.

The Jacksonville defense certainly isn’t anything to be frightened of in a vacuum, but the Colts offense hasn’t exactly looked like they’re capable of doing much of anything as of late. Hasselbeck has been merely average while Frank Gore would kill to have been average as of late. On the road and with all of the circumstances in this game, Indy should definitely be on the lookout for a frisky Jacksonville team, despite their worse record.
