Previous: . new york jets. 11. team. 30.
This started as a season where the Jets were trying to reestablish themselves in the AFC, but little did we know the progress they’d make in the first year of the Todd Bowles era. Right now the Jets are in the playoffs, sitting in a spot that the Pittsburgh Steelers are licking their chops over possible getting.

That could happen, as the Jets are not what you’d call a reliable option, but that being said — they’re in the postseason bubble and the Steelers are not. Winning a game they should have won in Week 14 against the Titans proves a little bit that this Jets team is starting to become more reliable week-to-week, or at least they’re trying.

If the Jets make the playoffs, right now they’d match up against either the Broncos or Bengals — unless the Patriots bottom out and miss a first-round bye. That’s not a matchup that seems winnable, but neither the Broncos or Bengals are scary right now and the Jets very well could win their way out of the Wild Card round, not unlike the way they’ve managed to win their way into the playoff picture against the odds that critics set up against them at the start of the season.
.
