13.
The San Diego Chargers are one of the worst teams in the National Football League. The bigger problem is what to do moving forward.

San Diego signed quarterback Philip Rivers to a four-year extension this offseason and while Rivers has played like a Pro Bowler, the rest of the team is absolutely rancid. Rivers is surrounded by a running game that features Melvin Gordon, a first round pick who can’t seem to get anything going. Part of Gordon’s problem is an offensive line that can’t open holes or protect Rivers, something that is depressing beyond words when you consider that San Diego paid a premium for both left tackle King Dunlap and left guard Orlando Franklin.

The receivers have Keenan Allen – when he is healthy – but everyone else needs to go. Steve Johnson and Malcom Floyd are both free agents after this season and should be gone. Tight end Antonio Gates is a future Hall of Famer but it is time to move on and get younger. Perhaps the easiest thing to do is trade Rivers for a bunch of draft picks, fire general manager Tom Telesco and head coach Mike McCoy, and accept a three-year rebuilding effort. The time has come.
. (3-10). Previous: . san diego chargers. 28. team
