The Atlanta Falcons could make the playoffs, here are the potential scenarios following Week 15.
The Atlanta Falcons improved to 7-7 and .5o0 after a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday in Week 15. While the Falcons looked like a lock to make the playoffs earlier in the season, they’ve been struggling in the latter half of the season.
But they’re still not out of it and could still potentially make the playoffs. They won’t catch the Carolina Panthers, who are 14-0, for the NFC South division title but they could still earn a Wild Card berth.
As it sits right now, the Falcons are the last man out of the playoffs. If the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday Night Football, they to would be 7-7 and just on the outside looking in.
The Minnesota Vikings won on Sunday and improved to 9-5, a two-game lead over the Atlanta Falcons. The Seattle Seahawks are 8-5 and playing the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. If they were to win and improve to 9-5 as well, it would put the Falcons on the brink of elimination.
To reach the playoffs the Falcons would need either the Vikings or Seahawks to lose both of their final games while Atlanta won their Week 16 and 17 matchups just to tie and force a tiebreaker.
It is a long shot for the Falcons.
