Los Angeles Clippers
Less talking, more performance. That is the remedy for LA’s big team.
The Los Angeles Clippers did a lot of talking this offseason. It was much to do with Golden State and their cakewalk through the NBA Finals. Head coach Doc Rivers dissed the Warriors by calling them lucky. When your team has one of the most infamous playoff collapses in recent memory to a vastly inferior Houston Rockets team, one must let the performance do the talking.
The biggest issue that the Clippers have besides overall health is the hideously awful free-throw shooting from DeAndre Jordan. If he could only make 65-70 percent of his charity points, the Clippers would have a better chance of wresting the Larry O’Brien Trophy from Golden State’s grasps. Instead, they have to sacrifice one of the league’s best defenders in order to convince opposing teams not to get foul-happy.
Besides the free-throw woes of Jordan improving, the Clippers simply need time to gel. This will be a great team at some point.
There are a couple of additional moves that could be made just to tweak things. Moving guard Jamal Crawford for a perimeter defender could help. If they could add a player like Thabo Sefolosha, or a lessor known player like Philadelphia’s Robert Covington, the Clippers would be in business.
