Indiana Pacers

Having Paul George put up MVP-like numbers should be enough to appease the legions of die-hard Indiana Pacers fans. One would think that judging from the way he has played thus far, any concerns about the strength of his leg would be cast aside. Paul George is back!

As for his supporting cast, it is an interesting mix of two-way players. From George Hill to Jordan Hill. From Jordan Hill to Monta Ellis, the versatility is apparent. What is, or should be on the Pacers wish list is a table-setter.

Do not make the mistake and dismiss George Hill as a quality guard. Indiana could capitalize on his scoring ability if they had a true point guard, someone of the Jose Calderon kind of mode. The addition of a true point guard would allow the Pacers to play small ball, leaving mismatches everywhere.

With Ellis in the fold to add scoring from the starting lineup and Rodney Stuckey providing the punch for the second unit, this team is already dangerous. There was a reason why the Pacers were able to play Golden State’s pace a couple of weeks ago. Having a point guard to control the pace would have perhaps given them the win.
