Round 1: Robert Nkemdiche, DE/DT (Ole Miss)

The Giants may have received the best gift that any team in their position could ask for with Ole Miss Rebels star Robert Nkemdiche getting into his bit of trouble recently. While that may raise some concerns about the big defensive lineman’s character coming into the draft, it also benefits a team like the Giants in the fact that Nkemdiche is likely going to drop a bit in the draft and could very well be there for the taking when New York comes on the clock.

By talent alone, Nkemdiche is one of the best overall prospects hands down. With his size, speed for his size, and versatility, Nkemdiche has the makings of a devastating defensive force at the next level. If it weren’t for his recent troubles with falling out of hotel windows and with getting charged with possession of marijuana, he would almost surely be a top-five pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.

However, he’s likely going to fall in the draft and could very well be there still in the middle of the first round when the Giants are likely going to be making their selection. Considering that one of New York’s biggest areas of concern is their pass-rush and that they’ll be looking to improve that in the draft, Nkemdiche is well worth any risk.
