123.
Safety may not jump out as an immediate need for the Dallas Cowboys at first glance, but it’s not the strength of the team either. Barry Church and J.J. Wilcox have hovered between good and serviceable but neither of them has made it clear they can’t be replaced.

Combined, they have just one interception despite some significant upgrades to the pass rush. Playmaking is the word that jumps out about the best safeties and neither of these guys do enough of it. Something that has stood out about the Cowboys’ drafting of late is their willingness to hit a position multiple times until it’s a strength. So safety will be on the board if they find one good enough.

Jalen Ramsey is good enough. The Florida State standout might be the most complete defensive back in the country. He’s got the size, toughness and instinct for safety but also the athleticism and speed for corner. His instinct is off the charts and he doesn’t shrink from his tackling responsibilities. A plug and play starter from day one who will become a captain at the back end of that secondary is what Dallas locks up.
. S. Florida State. Jalen Ramsey. 4. player
