High Salary C

John Tavares-New York Islanders ($7,800): You can save money tonight by staying away from Tyler Seguin and spending about $1,000 less for Tavares. He scored a goal Saturday night to continue his hot streak and now has a three-game point streak with six points in the last five games.  Tonight’s match with the Dallas Stars will be tough, but the Islanders rely on Tavares to be a main source of offensive production.

Jonathan Toews-Chicago Blackhawaks ($6,100): With a salary just over $6,000 Toews would normally be considered a value pick at center. However, there are few options tonight and he is actually the third-highest priced center on the board. He’s been playing extremely well lately with points in three straight games and four points over the last five games. A favorable matchup with Ottawa, the 24th-ranked team against centers makes Toews someone to target tonight.

High Value C

Aleksander Barkov-Florida Panthers ($5,700): Barkov was kept off the score sheet against the Rangers on Saturday but he remains someone to use in your lineup again today. He still carries a value price and six points over the last five games, including a three-point game on December 29. Barkov gets good ice time and just recently had back-to-back two-goal games. Minnesota ranks eighth against centers but don’t let that deter you from using Barkov in your lineup.

Mika Zibanejad-Ottawa Senators ($4,400): Zibanejad has quietly put together a good season with 23 points in 37 games. He’s got three points in his last four games and has raised his fantasy point average to 2.7 points a game. Tonight’s matchup with Chicago looks very tough on paper, as the Blackhawks are the best team at allowing points to opposing centers. However, Zibanejad plays nearly 20 minutes a game and sees over two minutes of ice time on the power play, meaning that he’ll have chances to put up points.

Ryan Strome-New York Islanders ($3,800): Strome wouldn’t normally get a look for many daily fantasy lineups but on a night with only four games it’s important to find someone who is completely under the radar yet still has a chance to put up some numbers. Enter Strome. He’s been shut out the last two games but had a three-game point streak prior to that. He’s got three goals and 10 assists on the year and could propel your lineup forward in the standings tonight if he happens to stumble onto the scoresheet again.
