3. player. 13.
The San Diego Chargers need help all across the board. Offensive line, wide receiver, linebacker, defensive secondary – really, just throw a dart and you’ll hit an area of need for the team. It’s a blessing and a curse, really. So, when in doubt, take the best player available.

San Diego decides to go with Jalen Ramsey out of Florida State. Ramsey is a battering ram in the defensive secondary and will punish anyone and everyone in his path. Even better, Ramsey can line up as a cornerback as needed. For a team that was decimated more than any other team in the league (although Baltimore might have an argument for that award) locking down a multi-faceted player is a solid selection by the Chargers.

Looking at the division, Ramsey can pay immediate dividends for the Chargers. Lord only knows who will be under center for the Denver Broncos, Derek Carr is still young and prone to errors, and Alex Smith isn’t exactly a world-beater. Ramsey is the type of guy who can force teams into mistakes, and bait quarterbacks into making bad throws.

There’s a temptation to help out on the offensive line or go with a flashy receiver – the latter to mix well with the likely move to glitz and glam Los Angeles – but Ramsey is the building block for a defensive secondary undergoing a rebuild.
. S. Florida State. Jalen Ramsey
