10. . 9-7. 1st AFC South. Houston Texans. B+. player

The Houston Texans are one of a few teams throughout the NFL that were decidedly difficult to grade. Their 9-7 record for the 2015 season isn’t anything special, but they did make it into the postseason by winning one of the worst divisions in the league in the AFC South. Moreover, this Texans team simply didn’t have a normal season by any stretch of the imagination.

J.J. Watt and company looked like they were destined for a high draft pick and another disappointing season early in the year when they started 1-4 and then 2-5. However, Watt and the defense then started to really put it together and play to their potential. Even with injuries at the quarterback position and to Arian Foster absolutely destroying any semblance of consistency with their offense, the defense was able to carry them to winning seven of their last nine games and the division title.

Considering the start to the season and how the Texans finished the year despite the odds being stacked against them because of injuries and, frankly, a lack of talent, you have to give them credit for getting to nine wins and winning the division. Even if the division was weak, this team didn’t look capable of doing even that early in the season and the injuries would have made you think that it was more impossible for that to happen—yet here we are.
