High Value SF

Al-Farouq Aminu-Portland Trail Blazers (5,100): Aminu had a nice double-double against Memphis with 15 points and 14 boards to finish with 36 fantasy points. He had success against the Clippers earlier this season including a nice double-double, and he usually brings it against the team that originally drafted him coming out of Wake Forest. He has been a little boom-or-bust lately, but he’s got enough upside to consider in the late game.

Mirza Teletovic-Phoenix Suns (4,200): Teletovic has been one of the few Suns options that has been consistent lately, and the need for offensive firepower could eventually lead to more minutes and shots for the veteran.  Teletovic has at least 13 points in each of the Suns last three games and has 23 fantasy points or more in each of those contests which is enough to make him a solid value play.  The minutes in Phoenix are unpredictable given the current state of disarray, but Teletovic offers a deep threat which usually secures him playing time.

Shabazz Muhammad-Minnesota Timberwolves (3,700): There aren’t a ton of options in the SF value pile, but Muhammad is worth a look since he’s been getting more playing time lately and producing solid numbers overall.  Muhammad has played over 20 minutes in head of his last three games and has over 20 fantasy points in each of those contests just like he has in each of the last five games in which he has gotten that much run from coach Sam Mitchell.  Mitchell has talked about giving Muhammad more chances, and he looks like he finally is doing that which should allow Muhammad to be a good value again tonight against Denver.

Jonathon Simmons-San Antonio Spurs (3,100): If you go with a extra-cheap option at SF, check out the Spurs’ Jonathan Simmons who scored a quick 18 points in 20 minutes on Monday.  He’s been getting pretty good minutes off the bench for San Antonio lately, and he’ll have an opportunity again tonight with Tony Parker sidelined as the Spurs host the Jazz.  He’s high-risk, but he has a very high ceiling as well.
