5. Pass Rush

One area that the Steelers have prided themselves on has always been their ability to get after the quarterback. The Steelers this season have been very good at getting to the quarterback and finished the season with a tremendous 48 sacks.

While their secondary hasn’t been very good, the front seven makes up for it by being a nightmare for quarterbacks on a weekly basis. Guys like Cameron Heyward, Lawrence Timmons, Stephon Tuitt and James Harrison all led the charge in getting after the quarterback.

The Steelers know that to win their seventh Super Bowl as a franchise, they’re going to have to pressure the quarterback in every single game. That also means getting young guys like Jarvis Jones and Bud Dupree to take that next step and make their mark in the postseason.

Pittsburgh seems to spend much of their drafts bolstering their front seven and it’s paid off for the most part, even if some guys haven’t completely taken off in their careers yet.

The best way they can help their secondary is by bringing down the quarterback. If they’re going to win the Super Bowl in Santa Clara, they’re going to need bring down the quarterback.
