4. Championship Pedigree

No matter which way you slice it up, a championship pedigree is a huge boost to a team in the playoffs.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been there and done that more than any other team in the history of the NFL with six Super Bowls. That pedigree is what consistently drives the Steelers to being one of the best franchises every year in the NFL.

While the Steelers are the No. 6 seed in the playoffs, they have players that have won Super Bowls and know how to win from any seed in the postseason. While there are many new pieces on the team that haven’t been a part of their recent Super Bowl runs, they have plenty of guys that have to lead those players.

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has played in three Super Bowls and is no stranger to the big moment. He knows how to handle the big stage and the pressure that comes with it.

Head coach Mike Tomlin has coached two of those Super Bowls and knows how to prepare a postseason gameplan for his team. The front office has done a great job of keeping guys that they draft and developing a winning culture and ingraining those new players into culture of the team.

They’re prepared for the long road ahead and they can thank their championship pedigree for it.
