High Value PG

Goran Dragic-Miami Heat (5,600): Dragic has been outspoken against his former team, and he’ll get his first chance to return to Phoenix since the Suns traded him to Miami last season. Dragic has faced the Suns once and was on fire before leaving with back spasms calling the win his new teammates gave him a “birthday present” due to his animosity toward his former team.  He’ll be ready to take it to Phoenix tonight in what should be a great matchup for him anyways since the Suns allow the second-most fantasy points to opposing PG.  Dragic didn’t have a great game on Wednesday with only 11.9 fantasy points against the Knicks.  He did manage to score in double figures for the fifth straight game, but only had one assist in 34 minutes.  Before Wednesday night’s downer, Dragic had five straight games of at least 20 fantasy points including four games over 25 fantasy points. Against his former team in such a great matchup, I love Dragic as a sub-6K play tonight.

Mario Chalmers-Memphis Grizzlies (4,900): Another really good play tonight even though he is very affordable is former-Miami point guard Mario Chalmers. Chalmers will likely start for Memphis tonight since Mike Conley is doubtful as the Grizzlies host the Nuggets who allow the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing PG.  Chalmers played 39 minutes in his start on Wednesday night totaling 23 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds against the Thunder for an impressive 49.1 fantasy points. Since the Grizzlies don’t have many other options at point guard and he’s in a great matchup tonight, Chalmers is set up for another monster night and the only drawback is that he will be a very popular choice in most formats tonight.

Shane Larkin-Brooklyn Nets (4,400): If you want to go against popular opinion and look for a less heralded starter at PG tonight, check out the Nets Shane Larkin who looked much better in his second game starting in place of the injured Jarrett Jack than he id in his first start.  On Monday he only managed 7.4 fantasy points against Boston, but he did come back with a stronger game on Wednesday with 26 fantasy points on nine points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  Larkin has shown the ability to light up the scoreboard when he’s at his best and can contribute solid peripherals as well.  He’ll have the ball in his hands a bunch tonight as the Nets take on Orlando, so he is worth a look if you can’t afford Chalmers or want to try swimming upstream.
