FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-January 9
High Salary PG
Kyle Lowry-Toronto Raptors (9,000): Lowry and the Raptors have gotten off to a good start to the New Year despite a pair of tough losses to the Bulls and Cavs. They cruised past Washington last night behind Lowry’s 21 points and ten rebounds while mixing in four assists and four steals to help him to get to 43 fantasy points. Lowry has at least 39 fantasy points in each of his last five games and is averaging 20.2 points, 8.2 assists, 6.6 rebounds, and 2.8 steals over that five-game span. Tonight, the Raptors are in a great matchup against the 76ers which should set up well for Lowry as long as the game doesn’t get out of hand too early and force him to play fewer minutes. With Curry at less than 100% and John Wall struggling a little, Lowry is the high-priced option I have the most confidence in tonight. ∗∗∗∗
Reggie Jackson-Detroit Pistons (7,300): Jackson has at least 28 fantasy points in four of his last five games including three with over 33 fantasy points. He had 34.4 fantasy points in his last game on Wednesday against Boston scoring 24 points to go with six assists in his 31 minutes. The Pistons should be well-rested as they take on the Nets. Jackson will go head-to-head with Shane Larkin in this one since Jarrett Jack is sidelined for the season and that should allow Jackson to continue his strong production. In his last ten games he’s averaging just a shade under 20 points and over six assists and three rebounds per game which is enough to make him worth a look at just over 7K tonight. ∗∗∗
Ishmael Smith-Philadelphia 76ers (6,100): Smith is still underpriced on FanDuel and worth a look even though he’s in a tough matchup tonight against the Raptors who allow the second-fewest fantasy points to opposing PG. Smith has been a little inconsistent as he adjusts to his new team with at least 40 fantasy points in three of his last six games but under 22 fantasy points in his other three contests. He has 12 points and seven assists on Thursday against the Hawks, but in the previous game he had a much better 21 points and 11 assists against the T-Wolves. The matchup makes me cautious, but Smith has undeniable upside to consider tonight. ∗∗
