Last year the Tennessee Titans picked second overall and settled — if you can call it that — for Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota. With Mariota under center, the Titans believe they have their franchise quarterback of the future and are going to look to build around him. After a disastrous 2015 season, the Titans are picking No. 1 overall and have a prime opportunity to do so.

In steps Ole Miss offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil, a large mass of human being who can keep Mariota safe and upright.

Tunsil has the prototypical size at 6’5″ and 305 pounds. He is also athletic, he can move with easy and quickly. He has the ability to be explosive and powerful and he is fast. In a zone-blocking scheme, Tunsil would be a perfect fit.

All in all, it makes perfect sense for the Titans and works out in their favor. The best player on the board fills the biggest need they have, and protects their franchise quarterback. It might not be a sexy pick and fans might not be rushing out to buy a jersey, but is the sensible and smart pick.

A duo of Tunsil and Mariota could be the foundations of the future for the Titans’ offense.
. OT. Ole Miss. Laremy Tunsil. 1. player. 35
