FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-January 16
High Salary PG
Chris Paul-Los Angeles Clippers (9,700): Paul has been a huge part of the Clippers’ ten-game winning streak and led LA to a win on Wednesday in their last game without both Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan. He finished that contest with 49.2 fantasy points on 15 points, 12 assists, six rebounds, four steals, and a block. He has at least 42 fantasy points in each of his last five games including a pair of games with over 53 fantasy points. Tonight, he’ll take on the Kings who allow the third-most fantasy points to opposing PG in a matchup I think he can dominate and produce big numbers in. He’s the top elite-level PG that I would target for tonight’s games. ∗∗∗∗
Damian Lillard-Portland Trail Blazers (9,200): Lillard has been rolling since returning from a foot injury, and he now has at least 44 fantasy points in five straight games after scoring 33 points and adding ten assists last night night in Brooklyn. He had 53.6 fantasy points in that contest, and he should be in another matchup he can dominate tonight against the 76ers in Philadelphia. The one reason I lean toward CP3 over Lillard is that Paul has rested the last two days while Lillard played 37 minutes last night against the Nets. ∗∗∗
Ishmael Smith-Philadelphia 76ers (6,900): Smith had 24 points and eight assists against the Bulls on Thursday finishing with 42.8 fantasy points and giving him three straight games with over 38 fantasy points. He definitely has the potential to produce big games in his role as the Sixers primary ball-handler and Portland has allowed more fantasy points to opposing PG than any other team in the NBA over their last five games. ∗∗∗∗∗
Michael Carter-Williams-Milwaukee Bucks (6,700): Carter-Williams played a huge 42 minutes last night int he Bucks overtime win over Atlanta, and he should be lined up for another heavy workload tonight unless O.J. Mayo or Jerryd Bayless are ready to return. In his 42 minutes on the floor, MCW was productive with 15 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, three steals, and two blocks for a very solid 40.3 fantasy points. He has at least 30 fantasy points in eight of his last ten games including five games with at least 39 fantasy points. While fatigue is a concern, I think Carter-Williams has another good game in him tonight as the Bucks visit Charlotte to take on the Hornets who also played just last night as they lost a close game to the Pelicans. ∗∗
