High Salary PF

Dirk Nowitzki-Dallas Mavericks (7,100): Dirk and Dallas know this drill. They head to San Antonio to take on the Spurs tonight who are on a phenomenal roll at home and trying to push Golden State for best record in the NBA.  Dirk and the Mavs have been a thorn in the Spurs’ side in the past, and they’ll look to pull the upset tonight. The Spurs are really good at defending opposing big men and are always excellent on defense at home (which is why you don’t see many Mavericks on my list today). The one player who I think will have a solid game against them is Dirk who had a double-double in their first meeting this year totaling 13 points and 14 rebounds.  Nowitzki also has been on quite a roll lately with at least 30 fantasy points in six straight contests. He’s risky based on the matchup, but he’s the most expensive PF that I would consider for tonight.

LaMarcus Aldridge-San Antonio Spurs (7,100): The Spurs counterpart to Dirk has been playing well also, but he hasn’t been quite as consistent as the big German.  Aldridge had a big road trip early last week with 25 points and 11 boards against the Nets and 22 points and 13 rebounds against the Pistons.  He came back to earth on Thursday, though, with just six points and eight rebounds against the Cavs going for 41.2 and 38.1 fantasy points all the way down to 17.6 fantasy points. He’s gelling well with his new team, and I think he’ll bounce back nicely tonight.

Serge Ibaka-Okalhoma City Thunder (6,200): Serge has been playing well lately with multiple blocks in eight of his last ten and each of his last four and a total of 33 points in his last two games.  He has 34.2 and 32 fantasy points in those two contests, and he’ll represent good value if he can reach those numbers again tonight against Chris Bosh and Hassan Whiteside of the Heat.  Ibaka runs hot and cold, so he’s always a high-risk play although lately he has been deliver on the high-upside he sometimes flashes.
