High Salary PG

Russell Westbrook-Oklahoma City Thunder (10,500): Westbrook didn’t quite get his third straight triple-double last night but he managed 57.25 fantasy points on 27 points, five rebounds, and a dozen assists against the Nuggets.  Tonight, he’ll be home in a tough matchup against the Hornets, but he has been so consistent that he’s still a usable option for tonight.  In his last eight games (not counting an early ejection), he has at least 40 fantasy points with at least 52 fantasy points in each of his last two games and four of his last six.

Stephen Curry-Golden State Warriors (10,400): Calling anyone over 10K under-priced seems crazy, but I actually think its true with Steph given his recent form.  Curry has at least 30 points in five of his last six games and has added good non-scoring stats as well.  He has at least 56 fantasy points in four of his last six games with three games over 60 fantasy points. On Wednesday, he only needed 28 minutes to drop 35 points on the Cavs and add five rebounds, four assists, and three steals as well.  Tonight, he and the Warriors take on Derrick Rose and the Bulls who have allowed the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing PG. If you can afford him, he’s the best fantasy option out there, but he is pricey and will soak up a lot of your cap space. ∗∗∗

Damian Lillard-Portland Trail Blazers (9,300): Lillard had a pair of down games to end Portland’s recent trip, but he should be rested and ready to step up tonight as the Blazers return to Portland to take on the Hawks.  Lillard had run off five straight games with over 48 fantasy points before posted just 19 fantasy points on 14 points in a blowout loss to Philadelphia on Saturday and only managing 16 points and six assists for 27.5 fantasy points against the Wizards on Monday.  His price has come down a bit as a result of back-to-back rough outings, but he is still the focus of the Blazers’ attack and should be back to making plays tonight in the late ESPN game.

Rajon Rondo-Sacramento Kings (8,500): Rondo and the Kings are one of the most well-rested groups on the schedule tonight not having played since last Saturday when the snapped the LA Clippers’ ten-game winning streak.  In that game Rondo posted his second double-double in his last three contests finishing with 40.75 fantasy points on 13 points, ten assists, and seven rebounds. Tonight’s game with the Lakers is a great matchup for him since no team in the NBA has allowed more fantasy points to opposing PG than the Lakers and Rondo himself just had nine points and 12 assists against them last week on his way to 41 fantasy points. I thin he’ll get at least that many again tonight, and he is one of the better plays as an expensive PG tonight. ∗∗

Ish Smith-Philadelphia 76ers (7,500): Smith poured in 52.25 fantasy points on Monday in the Sixers’ overtime game against the Knicks in which Smith finished with 16 points and 16 assists while tacking on seven rebounds and two steals for good measure.  He has at least 43 fantasy points in four of his last five games, and he should be able to get things rolling tonight against the Magic  who just got Elfrid Payton back from injury and are now without Victor Oladipo.  Smith is the key to the Sixers recent surge, and he’s a solid play at this price tonight. ∗∗∗∗
