High Value SF

Marcus Morris-Detroit Pistons (5,700): Morris had 32.75 fantasy points for my FanDuel picks last night in 37 minutes in a great matchup against the Rockets.  Tonight’s matchup against the Pelicans isn’t quite as good, but he has at least 25 fantasy points in each of his last three games and is getting so much playing time that he should be able to deliver a good stat line once again.

Kent Bazemore-Atlanta Hawks (5,600): Bazemore had a nice night last night in Portland finishing with 23 points, five assist, and five rebounds for a solid 36.75 fantasy points. He needed a bounceback game after finishing with just 5.75 fantasy points on Monday against the Magic.  Bazemore is still very involved in the Atlanta attack, and I like him at this price tonight against the Kings who allow the third-most fantasy points to opposing SG so far this season.

P.J. Tucker-Phoenix Suns (5,000): Tucker is a steady, solid producer who doesn’t flash a ton of upside but is almost always reliable for at least 20 fantasy points.  He has at least 20 fantasy points in eight of his last nine games and played 45 minutes against the Pacers on Tuesday on his way to 34 fantasy points on 12 points, ten rebounds, and five assists. He probably won’t play that much against the Spurs tonight, but he’s clearly ahead of T.J. Warren (also dealing with a knee injury) and should be a solid low-risk, low-upside play tonight.

Jeff Green-Memphis Grizzlies (4,900): Green is the opposite of Tucker in many ways since he is such a streaky option that he can be high risk due to his hit-and-miss production. He does have at least 16 points in four of his last six games including 16 points and nine rebounds which he posted against the Nuggets two weeks ago when these teams met.  Green has at least 22 fantasy points in four of his last six, but he also has thrown in a few clunkers so be aware of the risk if to go with Uncle Jeff tonight.

Stanley Johnson-Detroit Pistons (4,000): If you have to go extra-cheap at SF, check out the Pistons rookie who could pick up some extra minutes as the team completes their back-to-back in the Big Easy against the Pelicans.  Johnson had 23.75 fantasy points last night on seven points, nine rebounds, two assists, a block, and a steal and he has at least 19 fantasy points in three of his last four games and six of his last eight.

Jonathon Simmons-San Antonio Spurs (3,100): Simmons had 14 points on Sunday in the Spurs last game even though he only played 15 minutes.  Tonight, I think he’ll get playing time again with Tony Parker out and garbage time likely available.  When he gets time on the floor he produces good numbers as evidence by his 23.75 fantasy points on three rebounds, two assists, and a steal to go with his 14 points.  He’s a risk since who knows what Pop will do, but Simmons is opening eyes coming off the bench as a classic instant-energy Spurs’ reserve.∗∗
