DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-January 22
High Salary PG
Russell Westbrook-Oklahoma City Thunder (10,600): I actually like Westbrook just a little bit more than Curry tonight since I think he’ll be very motivated to light up Dallas after he was ejected from the last meeting of these teams just over a week ago. He only played 15 minutes before being tossed in that contest, and aside from that game has at least 48 fantasy points in each of his last nine games. He had 57.25 fantasy points in Denver on Tuesday and followed that up with 57.5 fantasy points on Wednesday even though he only played 27 minutes against the Hornets. A motivated Westbrook should be able to put up big numbers again tonight as the Thunder try to take down the Mavericks in their own building. ∗∗∗
Stephen Curry-Golden State Warriors(10,400): As crazy as it sounds, Curry may be under-priced even though he’s over 10K for tonight’s contest. He’s been on fire lately with over 56 fantasy points in four of his last five games. He had 11 assists and seven rebounds to go with his 25 points in just 34 minutes on Wednesday, and he should be able to take it to the Pacers who he had 29 points, ten assists, seven rebounds, and three steals against when the teams met earlier this year in Indy. He’s risky is his cost–he’ll have to do a lot to return value at this price point–but he has been lighting it up lately and should be in a high-scoring shootout in Oakland tonight.∗∗
Kyle Lowry-Toronto Raptors (8,600): Lowry didn’t have a great game on Wednesday against the Celtics, but he had 40+ fantasy points in his previous seven contests. He’s in what normally would be a tough matchup against the Heat, but Miami has been thinned out by injury at PG and will probably be relying on Tyler Johnson again while Goran Dragic continues his recovery. Since the matchup isn’t as bad as it normally would be and Lowry is on a pretty good roll, I think he makes a solid play if you can’t stretch your budget up to get to Steph or Westbrook. ∗∗∗∗∗
Elfrid Payton-Orlando Magic (6,200): Payton may have won back his starting PG job from Victor Oladipo who filled in well while Payton rested his ailing ankles recently. With Oladipo now injured, Payton has had two good games back in the lineup including a great game on Wednesday when he played 41 minutes against the 76ers and finished with 21 points, ten assists, six rebounds, two steals, and an impressive 47.5 fantasy points. He’ll be in for another huge game tonight as the Magic host the Hornets if Oladipo is out. If Oladipo returns, Payton becomes high-risk since coach Scott Skiles has yet to define what Payton’s and Oladipo’s role will be when both are healthy. No Oladipo-∗∗∗∗ With Oladipo-∗∗
