DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy hockey lineup- January 22
High Salary C
Evgeny Kuznetsov-Washington Capitals ($6,500): Kuznetsov continued to reward his fantasy owners with another huge game on Tuesday. He dished out four assists in a win over Columbus, a performance that followed a three-assist game versus New York on Sunday. That’s seven assists in two games for the young Russian center who has quickly become a fantasy superstar. If his production keeps up his salary will surely eclipse the $7,000 mark soon. The time to take advantage of Kuznetsov is now. Get him into your lineup tonight.
Pavel Datsyuk-Detroit Red Wings ($5,900): Datsyuk has been playing great hockey lately with points in three of his last four games and racking up 12 points over his last 13 games. The veteran winger is showing that he still has it, and lucky for fantasy owners, his price tag is still reasonable. He’ll go up against Buffalo tonight, a team ranked 17th in points allowed to opposing centers.
High Value C
Derek Stepan-New York Rangers ($5,100): After struggling for much of the last month, Stepan has been able to turn it on over the last week. He’s currently working on a three-game point streak with four points over that span. His last time on the ice was Tuesday, a game in which he dished out an assist and added a goal. Tonight’s opponent, Carolina, has been tough on opposing centers, but Stepan still makes for a decent play.
Paul Stastny-St. Louis Blues ($4,900): Stastny has been rolling lately with five points in his last three games. Despite being shut out on Wednesday, he makes for a solid pick tonight given his recent stellar play. Over his last 10 games he has recorded 10 points with two goals and eight assists. A very favorable matchup awaits him tonight in Colorado. Be sure to get Stastny into the lineup if you’re looking to save a center without losing much production.
Ryan Strome-New York Islanders ($4,000): A lower-priced center who has still been able to be useful in a fantasy setting is Ryan Strome. He only has five goals and 12 assists this year, but he’s averaging over two fantasy points a game and has two goals over his last three games. With four points in his last six games and a very favorable matchup with Ottawa tonight, Strome makes for a fine fantasy target at center.
