High Salary PG

Damian Lillard-Portland Trail Blazers (9,200): The top PG tonight is the Blazers’ Damian Lillard who has been struggling lately with three straight tough games.  Lillard was held under 20 points in each of his last three games and hasn’t been able to add enough non-scoring stats to get to 35 fantasy points. That being said, the Lakers allow the most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing PG, and Lillard has averaged 29.5 points, 10.0 assists, 5.0 rebounds, 1.0 blocks, and 1.0 steals in his two games against LA so far this season.  His recent struggles make him higher risk than he normally would be, but I think he’ll get back on track tonight. Facing the Lakers should be the cure for whatever is ailing the Portland point guard.

Rajon Rondo-Sacramento Kings (8,400): Rondo had a triple-double in the Kings last game finishing with 11 points, 11 assists, and ten rebounds finishing with 44 fantasy points. He has at least 40 fantasy points in four of his last five games but hasn’t been able to reach 50 fantasy points in any of those contests.  Rondo will take on the Pacers tonight who have a brutal task of going against the Warriors up-tempo attack and the Kings’ fast-paced offense in back-to-back games.  Rondo is a safer play than Lillard tonight, but he doesn’t have the upside since normally he doesn’t score a ton of points. ∗∗

Reggie Jackson-Detroit Pistons (7,100): Jackson is coming off his worst game of the month after managing just eight points and five assists against the Pelicans on Thursday in the second game of a tough back-to-back for Detroit.  He should be able to bounce back tonight against Denver who allows the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing PG.  In each of his three games before Thursday’s letdown (13.5 fantasy points) Jackson had over 33 fantasy points and has at least that many in five of his last eight games.  I think he’s a solid midrange pick who should be around that number again tonight in good matchup against the Nuggets.

Mike Conley-Memphis Grizzlies (6,300): Conley has looked good in his two games since returning from a Achilles injury.  He had 20 points against the Nuggets on Thursday and has over 29 fantasy points in each of his appearances even though he has been limited to just 27 minutes.  Tonight, he’ll take on the T-Wolves who allow the seventh-most fantasy points, and as he gets back to his full workload his fantasy numbers should climb even a little more. ∗∗
