DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-January 23
The Cavs and their new coach are just one of 16 NBA teams in action tonight, so use my DraftKings daily picks to get your DFS fantasy basketball lineup set for Saturday night’s eight games.
While all eyes will be on the Cavs’ new coach Tyronn Lue (picture above), the NBA has a total of eight games left on the schedule for tonight now that the Celtics-Sixers and Jazz-Wizards matchups have been delayed due to the storm in the Northeast. It was a great night for ABC/ESPN to debut their new national Saturday night NBA coverage as they get the Bulls and Lue’s Cavs in their first game since firing Daid Blatt. If you’re planning on catching all the action and playing along with a daily fantasy basketball team, check out my DraftKings daily picks on the following slides to see who I think is set up for success tonight.

The show gets started with a pair of nice 7:00 PM ET matchups as the Bucks visit New Orleans and the Knicks take on the Hornets. At 8:00, the T-Wolves host Memphis before the ABC game tips off at 8:30. As we move to the West, the Suns take on the Hawks at 9:00 before Detroit visits Denver at 9:30. In the last two games of the night the Lakers travel to Portland and the Pacers continue their road trip as they take on Sacramento. One important factor to consider is that the Bulls, Bucks, Hornets, Knicks, Lakers, and Pacers are all playing for the second night in a row as they complete back-to-backs.
With those 16 teams in action, there are lots of players to choose from for your DFS team. My DraftKings daily picks on the following slides are a great place to start. Each position has two slides assigned to it–one for high-salary options and one for high-value options. Each slide contains at least two options with a few extras thrown in where possible. I base each pick on the current form of each player and the positional matchups each player will face in tonight’s game.
This month, I also have started to rank my picks using stars after each selection. For a full explanation of the rating system, check out the last slide of this post, but the short version is “more stars=more confidence.” On the final slide of the post, you can see my recent results at each level of confidence. Also on the final slide of the post, you can see how I’m putting together the best of my picks into my lineups for tonight’s contests.
