team. 93.
I don’t know how to break this to you, but the Sixers just posted a winning week.

Philadelphia claimed victory in two out of their three games since we last checked in on Brett Brown and his team, and both of those wins (over Portland and Orlando) came in resounding fashion. In fact, this week’s numbers are startlingly good for the Sixers, as they allowed just 94.2 points per 100 possessions on the way to nearly a double-digit net rating (on the positive side!) and it is hard to poke fun at what they were able to accomplish.

Of course, it would irresponsible to rank Philly much higher than this given their fantastically ugly body of work at 6-38, but for this week, they escape from the bottom three by nature of legitimately strong performance.
. 86.
The Wolves claimed only one win over the past seven days, but that landslide victory was enough to catapult Minnesota out of the “top” spot. The team snapped a nine-game losing skid with a 30-point (!) win over Phoenix, and the score wasn’t even indicative of just how lopsided that game was in reality.

Still, Minnesota isn’t exactly playing the best basketball right now, and that was on full display at times in their two losses to New Orleans and Dallas. The talent level suggests that the Wolves should simply be better than their 13-31 record suggests, and it is wholly unacceptable that they are playing this poorly.

It will be interesting to see if Sam Mitchell ever flips to a full-fledged youth movement during this season, but the time has come for just that.
. 13-31).
