5. Ron Rivera

Who would have thought that Ron Rivera would be the guy to lead the Panthers here. Rivera was brought in taking over a two win team five years ago.

Rivera won just 13 games in his first two seasons. There were rumors about him being fired during the 2013 because people thought he couldn’t do the job. Rivera has done nothing but make the playoffs ever since with this core since then.

He is now signed through the 2017 season and who knows, maybe he gets an extension after this run too.

Rivera played for the Chicago Bears and was there when Mike Ditka was a coach and Buddy Ryan was his defensive coordinator. Rivera also coached under Jim Johnson with the Philadelphia Eagles. Sean McDermott took over for Johnson in Philly. McDermott is now the D coordinator under Rivera.

Riverboat Ron, combining with the other four parts have this team in prime position to not only win Super Bowl 50, but could put them in contention for years to come. This team went 15-1 for a reason and now they are one win away.
