DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy hockey lineup- January 26
High Salary W
Patrick Kane-Chicago Blackhawks ($8,900): Kane continues to carry a high price tag, but he’s proven time and again to be well worth it. He leads the NHL in goals (30), assists (43) and points (73). He’s averaging 5.3 fantasy points a game and is by far the most elite player available. With 10 points in the last six games he’s capable of putting up multiple points each night. Tonight he’ll get a very favorable matchup with Carolina. Kane will give you a big cap hit, but his production will quickly make you forget that.
Phil Kessel-Pittsburgh Penguins ($6,700): The Penguins have started to turn things around lately and conversely, so has Phil Kessel. He hasn’t provided as much production as Pittsburgh would have hoped when he came over in the offseason, but he is now up to 14 goals and 16 assists on the season. Kessel has a two-game point streak and recently had a two-goal performance on January 21. He’s earned fantasy owners seven points a game over the last two games and is an excellent target this evening.
Blake Wheeler-Winnipeg Jets ($6,800): Wheeler is tied for second tonight among available wingers with an average of 4.1 fantasy points per game. He picked up an assist in his last game and now has five points over the last seven games. Wheeler isn’t always popular fantasy choice, as he gets forgotten a bit up in Winnipeg, but he does make for a great target most nights. Despite only have 13 goals he does have 32 assists and can be a very good producer for fantasy lineups. Tonight’s matchup with Arizona is a favorable one, so get him into your lineup.
High Value W
Reilly Smith-Florida Panthers ($4,500): The Florida Panthers have been a surprise team in the Eastern Conference this season and Reilly Smith has been a key part of that. The young winger has stepped up his game in recent weeks and will take a three-game goal streak into tonight’s game with Toronto. Smith makes for a great value pick, and although he’ll likely have a rather high ownership number, he’s still worth plugging into your lineup tonight.
Tomas Hertl-San Jose Sharks ($4,700): Hertl has been a nice surprise for both the Sharks and fantasy owners alike. He’s racked up nine goals and 15 assists this season and is working on a two-game point streak. Hertl has put up five points in his last five game and has been a very valuable fantasy winger recently. A matchup with Colorado is a decent one tonight, making Hertl a solid choice for your lineup.
Mikkel Boedker-Arizona Coyotes ($4,900): Boedker has been up and down recently but he’s having a fantastic season overall with 12 goals and 22 assists. He struggled in Monday night’s game with Minnesota, failing to find the scoresheet and earning fantasy owners just 1.5 points. Still, he’s averaging over 3.2 fantasy points a game and gets a very good matchup in Winnipeg tonight. The Jets are ranked 26th in points allowed to opposing left wingers.
