5. Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls would be a great fit for Blake Griffin. With Noah out for the season, the Bulls need an upgrade at power forward if they’re going to do anything in the playoffs. They’d have to trade Pau Gasol in order to make the trade happen and would likely have to include a draft pick (a first rounder makes sense) as well since they’d be getting Griffin. But that is a trade that would make a ton of sense for both sides.

Gasol would be a great fit for the Clippers. He’s a better defensive player than Griffin, even if he isn’t the monster in the paint and around the rim that Blake Griffin is. Gasol wouldn’t be a significant downgrade on offense either. His mid-range game as well as his play around the rim could add a new dimension to the Clippers offense.

This trade makes sense for the Bulls as well, as it would make them immediate contenders in the Eastern Conference. If Derrick Rose can stay healthy, the Bulls could compete with the Cavaliers with their own “Big Three” of Rose, Jimmy Butler, and Blake Griffin.

The Clippers could also target Nikola Mirotic as well. His versatile style of play as well as his potential upside could be very intriguing to Doc Rivers. He would be able to start immediately for them and would help them in the future.
