Drake got the hotel room above Meek Mill and played “Back to Back” over and over again on full blast.

Hip hop fans everywhere remember when Drake dropped “Back to Back,” his Meek Mill diss track that seemed to single-handedly end the feud and put a nail in Meek Mill’s coffin. But it looks like there is another wrinkle to that story, apparently Drake got the hotel room above Meek Mill the night the diss track dropped and played it full blast on loop all night.Drake was next-level when it came to his rolling out of the single. But first, let’s rewind a bit. Drake was next-level when it came to his rolling out of the “Back To Back” track. In one lyric he addresses Funkmaster Flex of Hot 97 aligning himself with Meek Mill by reaching out to Charlamagne Tha God of Power 105, mentioning that he was going to send him bottles. He actually sent Charlamagne Tha God several bottles of Dom Perignon.

So when he says he is going to do something in his lyrics, he thinks about it and plans it out.

Now let’s catch back up to Saturday when Drake released “Summer Sixteen.” Drake mentions this in the intro hook: “Out in front of Four Seasons / Looking like a damn football team.” Doesn’t make a whole lot of sense at first, but then get into the first verse.

“I’m just a sicko a real sicko when you get to know me n—a / I let the diss record drop you were standing right below me, n—a / We must have played it a hundred times, you was going to bed.”

So Drake is saying he rented the hotel room above Meek Mill’s room in the same hotel, and then proceeded to play his diss track on loop all night as Meek Mill tried to go to sleep.

Well you might think to yourself, there is no way that is really true right? Meek Mill confirmed it. That’s right, Meek Mill dropped his own EP after Drake dropped “Summer Sixteen” and tells a similar story in the song “War Pain.”

“Location, Toronto, status — five-star hotel, Four Seasons. Them chumps right upstairs, they know not to come up here playin’ no real niggas. Mu, I’m still up countin’ five hundred thousand cash. Nicki in the bedroom sleep, life is good,” Meek Mill raps.

Now, given how quickly the two songs came out one could deduce that Meek Mill knew what Drake was going to say… that or he somehow was ready to mobilize and record or alter lyrics. The second potential situation seems like a logistical nightmare, and the first seems like a conspiracy theory.

But Meek Mill is saying he knew because the ghostwriter told him.
