3. Los Angeles Lakers

Kevin Love has seemed to have always been linked to the Los Angeles Lakers in trade rumors ever since he entered the league. Love played his college ball for the UCLA Bruins and he’s always been reported to want to come back out west to play basketball.

When a big player is involved in trade rumors, the Lakers are always trying to jump in and get involved in a deal. The Lakers are actually in a position where they could maybe land a stud piece with some trade assets that they have despite their pick being owed to the Philadelphia 76ers if it falls outside the top-3.

The Lakers will be looking to get in on the free agent hunt in the 0ffseason and will be in on every big star available in free agency. That’s the privilege that the organization has of being in a top market.

However, what if the Lakers could get a big name they’ve always wanted via trade and get a jump on free agency with a big name already on the roster to entice other free agents that are available. If the Lakers call the Cavaliers, Cleveland would certainly have to listen to what is being offered.

A deal for Love would certainly have to include Julius Randle, who is emerging as one of the more talented power forwards in the league. Randle has a low salary, so the Lakers would have to throw in Roy Hibbert’s expiring and perhaps the two sides could make a bigger deal involving Timofey Mozgov and other pieces.

In this deal, the Lakers get their guy and the Cavaliers get a young dynamic power forward and cap space to entice big names to come play with LeBron James and company.
