High Value PG

Marcus Smart-Boston Celtics (5,400): Smart poured in 26 points on Sunday night matching his career high.  He added five boards and two steals to get to 38.75 fantasy points giving him at least 30 fantasy points in four of his last five games and in six of his last ten.  He is getting consistent minutes coming off the bench for coach Brad Stevens although his scoring output isn’t usually quite as high as it was on Sunday.  Smart contributes in a variety of categories, though, and is a nice value play tonight under 6K. ∗∗

Zach LaVine-Minnesota Timberwolves (5,300): LaVine has scored in double-digits in four straight games and has over 20 fantasy points in each of those contests.  He had a pair of monster games last week against the Cavs (37.5 fantasy points) and Thunder (43.5 fantasy points), but he has also settled into a nice groove as the T-Wolves offensive punch coming off the bench.  LaVine should enjoy being back in LA where he played his college ball, and he’s a solid mid-range guard option for tonight given his recent success and the Lakers defensive struggles. As long as Kevin Martin is out as expected-

Patrick Beverley-Houston Rockets (4,500): Beverley lets James Harden run the show on offense in Houston’s backcourt, but he still produces solid fantasy lines and is a relatively inexpensive starting option.  Beverley had 15 points and five assists for 31.75 fantasy points on Saturday against the Wizards and he has at least 26 fantasy points in four of his five games back from his most recent injury.  Beverley is a solid value play even against the Heat since he will get plenty of minutes and should contribute good countable stats tonight.

Cory Joseph-Toronto Raptors (3,900): Joseph played 28 minutes in Denver last night, but he couldn’t get anything going either finishing with just 16.5 fantasy points on seven points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  He had run off four straight games before yesterday with 20+ fantasy points, and he’s in a good matchup to return to that level tonight against Phoenix.  If the Suns can’t keep up with the Raptors early, Joseph could get extra time in a rout as well.
