High Salary C

Sidney Crosby – Pittsburgh Penguins ($7,800): With Evgeni Malkin out of the lineup for at least the next two games, it will be up to Crosby to carry the Penguins. He is certainly up to the task, as he’s been red-hot lately. He’s working on an eight-game point streak and a four-game goal streak. He started the second half of the season off with a bang on Tuesday night, picking up a hat trick and adding an assist. With eight goals in the last six games, Crosby is the definition of a must-start fantasy center.

Sean Monahan – Calgary Flames ($5,900): Monahan broke out of a four-game pointless streak on Wednesday with a goal and three assists in a win over Carolina. He’s been streaky this year but has been a solid fantasy producer with 15 goals and 18 assists. Monahan gets a great match with Columbus tonight and will look to stay hot. He’s a great option at center tonight and will save you valuable cap space compared to some of the other centers on the board.

Ryan Getzlaf – Anaheim Ducks ($5,600): Getzlaf is an attractive center option tonight considering his favorable matchup with Arizona. Plus, he’s riding a four-game point streak and has registered 11 points in his last 10 games. He’s fantasy average of 2.8 points a game is a bit lower than you’d want, but he’s hindered from a fantasy perspective by the fact that he doesn’t shoot very often. He has just four goals this season, but his value is in his ability to assist his teammates. Getzlaf is on fire right now and is coming off of Thursday’s one goal, one assist performance.

High Value C

Ryan Kesler – Anaheim Ducks ($4,800): Kesler was kept off the scoresheet on Tuesday but showed up Thursday by recording an assist. He now has eight points in the last eight games and has raised his fantasy points average to 2.9 per game. He gets a good matchup with Arizona tonight, a team ranked 22nd in points allowed to opposing centers. Kesler Has been extremely kind to his fantasy owners lately, averaging over six fantasy points in the last four games. Take Kesler tonight, but expect that he could have a high ownership number.

Boone Jenner – Columbus Blue Jackets ($4,900): Jenner is they type of fantasy pick that you need on a night with very few games. He will likely be under the radar tonight, but he has actually been a very solid producer this season. He hasn’t registered a point since his last game before the All-Star break, but he has 17 goals and 13 assists this season with an average of 3.2 fantasy points a game. Tonight’s opponent, Calgary, is ranked 25th against opposing centers, setting up Jenner as a prime sleeper candidate tonight.
