DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy hockey lineup – February 5
High Salary D
Mark Giordano – Calgary Flames ($6,800): Giordano netted his 12th goal of the season and added his 22nd assist in Wednesday’s win over Carolina. He racked up six fantasy points for his owners in that game and has turned into a must-start fantasy defenseman each time he’s on the ice. He enters tonight’s matchup with Columbus with a two-game goal streak and 10 points in his last 10 games. Giordano is a fantasy beast right now and needs to be used in your lineup.
Dustin Byfuglien – Winnipeg Jets ($6,600): Byfuglien has finally started to play up to what fantasy owners had come to expect from him over the past few years. The versatile defenseman plays with a great offensive mind and is never afraid to fire the puck on net. He scored his 16th goal of the season on Tuesday and now has a three-game goal streak with four goals over that span. With seven points in his last seven games and an average of 3.8 fantasy points a game, Byfuglien is a solid option at defenseman tonight.
High Value D
Dougie Hamilton – Calgary Flames ($4,800): Hamilton has been overshadowed by the play of fellow blueliner Mark Giordano this season, but he’s quietly put together a solid season with 21 points in 49 games. He earned fantasy owners six points in Wednesday’s game with a goal and an assist. Tonight’s matchup with Columbus is a favorable one, making Hamilton a good sleeper choice for your lineup.
Trevor Daley – Pittsburgh Penguins ($3,700): Daley only has 13 total points this season but has put up four points over his last seven games. He doesn’t make the most attractive fantasy option, but on a night with limited options, he’s worth taking a chance on. The price is decent and he has shown an ability lately to put up points. Though he is averaging just 1.7 fantasy points a game for the season, that number has increased to 2.7 in the last eight games. Take a flier with Daley tonight, he likely won’t be owned by very many people.
