DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy hockey lineup- February 7
High Salary D
P.K. Subban-Montreal Canadiens ($6,300): There are not too many players, especially defensemen, that are playing better than Subban right now. He extended his point streak to five games on Saturday with a goal and an assist in the win over Edmonton. He now has 16 points in his last 15 games and is clearly the best defenseman available today. He has six goals and 26 assists on the season and will need to continue his hot play if the Canadiens hope to claim a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
John Carlson-Washington Capitals ($6,200): Carlson is worth taking a chance on today now that he appears to be over the lower-body injury that kept him out of action since late December. He’s appeared in four games since his return, and though he hasn’t picked up any points yet, it’s just a matter of time before he shakes the rust off. He was playing well before the injury with 27 points in 34 games. The Flyers are in town today and have really struggled to stop opposing defensemen this season. Carlson could take advantage of today’s matchup and finally get things rolling again.
High Value D
Shayne Gostisbehere-Philadelphia Flyers ($5,300): Philadelphia’s rookie sensation just continues to amaze with his talent. He recorded a goal and an assist on Saturday against the Rangers and now has a seven-game point streak heading into today’s battle with Washington. Gostisbehere has emerged into a legit fantasy starter and needs to be in daily hockey lineups every time Philadelphia is in action. His salary has continued to creep up, and while he won’t be considered a value pick for much longer, he still is right now and needs to be used today.
Nick Leddy-New York Islanders ($4,300): Leddy assisted on New York’s lone goal on Saturday and raised his point total to 20 for the season. Though it’s been a struggle for him for much of the season, he has picked it up a bit lately with five points in his last seven games. A low salary and a favorable matchup with Edmonton today makes Leddy a blueliner to target for your lineup.
