Laquon Treadwell. 16. player. 50.
It’s (still) hard to believe that Calvin Johnson would walk away from the NFL while still operating as a top-10 wide receiver in the league, but that is the new reality for the Detroit Lions. This is a tortured organization in many ways, but with Johnson walking away early (at least in the minds of some), another hole opens on a roster that already has quite a few.

While the Lions shouldn’t enter the 2016 NFL Draft fixated on drafting a wide receiver (or any single position), the way this mock works out for Detroit is pristine. Treadwell is arguably a top-5 overall player in this class after a stand-out career at Ole Miss, and it would be quite unlucky for him to fall this far. On the bright side, Treadwell could step in immediately alongside Golden Tate to form a strong duo of outside weapons for Matthew Stafford and company, and the Lions can’t afford to pass up on the “next big thing” at receiver in the absence of Johnson.

If Treadwell is off the board, the Lions could look to add talent along the offensive or defensive lines, but it would simply be too good to be true for Detroit if the draft’s best wide-out was available here.
. WR. Ole Miss
