CBS was touting its live stream of Super Bowl 50 for months — so naturally it crashed.

We live in an era where live streaming events isn’t something that you have to do on the down low, as companies are more open to letting people watch from their laptops as opposed to having to watch something on a television.

CBS hasn’t always been at the forefront of this revolution but they took a big step in a big way with allowing Super Bowl 50 to be live streamed. This was a good idea in theory, as chord cutters make up most of the millennial demographic. The only thing that could hold up this plan is if the live stream didn’t work or if it crashed.

As has become all too common with this sort of thing, the Super Bowl 50 live stream crashed right before kickoff.

Needless to say, people were not happy about this.

CBS gets credit for letting the chord cutters stream Super Bowl 50, but the execution was botched pretty hard here. This is a thing that HBO and others haven’t seemed to master either, so let’s not get too mad at CBS for not being able to see this idea through to the end.
