This would rip the heart out of all the fans in the Windy City, but Forte would make a ton of sense wearing a Green Bay Packers uniform in 2016.

Forte is probably in the last few years of his career and at this juncture, only playing for a contender makes sense. Why would Forte want to finish out playing for some team that is destined to go 6-10. Also, after years of Jay Cutler and a horrible offensive line, wouldn’t he like to play with one of the greatest quarterbacks of the last 25 years?

The Packers have an odd running back situation with Eddie Lacy trying to lose weight and James Starks being more of a second option. Lacy is never going to contribute much in the passing game, so he and Forte could easily coexist. This also gives Green Bay some insurance if Lacy can’t lose the 30 pounds he’s supposed to in the offseason.

Going to Green Bay would be a rough choice for Forte, who has been trying to fight against the Packers for the better part of a decade. Still, it would be a great opportunity for a man who deserves at least one more chance at winning a title before that rocker comes into play.
